A Snow Covered Trail

Last updated on August 20, 2021

When the wind carries snow through the trees
I’ll soon be smiling away on my skis.
Blitzing along the trail I glide
Heart pumping with every stride.
Soon I’ll be on my knees
Chickadees listening in the trees.
O Lord, your radiance in this day
Makes me never want to stray.
Maples talking on this stretch
Telling me with glee
This scene I see,
is only in His hand,
a sketch.

A retired Catholic teacher with a freelance writing stint, I love playing the best game on earth, hockey, or paddling kayaks on a river, lake, or ocean. My home is in the heart of Christ, held in the arms of His Mother who accompanies me when I receive the Eucharist. My seven kids range from 21 to 38 years old.
